Dear Mr. Heinrich and Mrs. Santini,

My sincere apologises for not being able to be at conferences today. I'm
very ill with the flu, and as I still have a fever, I did not want to risk
infection of the entire parent community!


Here is the update on the AP US History course so far. The students have
focused on colonial American history and the beginnings of American
government. This content is taught through the historical thinking skills
of compare and contrast, continuity and change over time, and causation
with particular emphasis on document analysis. The students have practiced
multiple parts of the AP exam format including the document-based essay,
short answer essay questions and multiple choice.


Anna is doing brilliantly! She is dedicated and studious. She has earned
excellent marks on every assignment and is get an A. She often is looking
for the exact formula to follow in her writing but seems to be accepting
that there isn't one way to write an essay that will guarantee success.
Instead she is starting to think more flexibly and that showing in her
work. I have every reason to believe that if she keeps up this level of
dedication that her progress will continue.


Again, I am so sorry we didn't get the chance to speak in person today. If
