IMPORTANT REMINDERS re. Teacher Recs and more

Dear Juniors:

It was great to see the Class of 2020 together on Thursday for lunch, and
we want to take this moment to remind you of some important “To Do’s” and
deadlines as we move to the end of the year.


   1.

   Please make an appointment to see your college counselor for a final
   check-in before June.  Email your free periods/afternoons today.
   2.

   Please download and sign your waiver and upload it back into MAIA.  Your
   parents need to sign this as well.
   3.

   Once you have done this, see your college counselor for your Teacher
   Recommendation request form - due back the week of May 20th, no later
   than the 23rd. *You cannot do this until your waiver is uploaded into
   MAIA.*
   4.

   Start working on the following:
   1.

      Read the Weekly Bulletin every Monday - lots of important reminders,
      including College Visits will be listed there.
      2.

      Do your assessments in MAIA - Interest Profiler and Learning Survey.
      3.

      Put any “Colleges Considering” into MAIA.  Use the data there to help
      you develop your list.  The Class of 2019 data will be uploaded by
      the end of May - it is not there now.
      4.

      Upload your resume, notes on college visits, papers, videos,
      portfolios and projects to MAIA.
      5.

      Download from MAIA and start your Academic Self-Reflections (one of
      each teacher writing you a recommendation.)  Your teachers must receive
      these BEFORE you leave for the summer. Please also make sure to
      upload these into Maia and notify your college counselor so that they can
      access these as well.
      5.

   Don’t forget - May 20th - Junior College Day.  You will be with us from
   8:05am until 3:05pm to do some important college tasks and research.
