Now, just when I thought I had escaped you…….;-)
Lovely to hear from you!
All good here. So much to tell – far too much by email!
Glad to hear the girls are well and happy!
I’d be delighted to assist Anna. We should indeed meet so I can get an overall picture of her aspirations.
When would work for you?
Warmest wishes,
Lewis

Dear Lewis,
How are you? I can`t believe that last time we met you was in June 2016!
How is Tanya? Dani and Sofia must be so grown up! You should send me some updated pics!:).
On our side, everything is fine.
Laura is a lawyer trainee at Fieldfisher and her future doctor husband got just assigned for the next 8 years to be a trainee consultant in London.
Beatrice after her 5 years in the US, landed a super job in tech in a European company (OCTO) and also found an American husband! She is getting married in Puglia on 7th July.
Anna….well, is the reason why Lisa contacted you! Actually, sorry if I am answering so late to your message, but there was a glitch in the emails systems.
As Lisa mentioned to you already, Anna decided to apply to some UK colleges and, at the moment, she seems very keen to apply only in the UK.
I copy and past below your answers to Lisa for your own reference:
"1) as you know, UK is very academically focussed so anything that enhances her skills both in Chinese and wider transferable skills is good. Obviously anything specifically related to Chinese/Mandarin is worth doing. Places like SOAS may offer some open lectures. Could she get a week working with a Chinese Prof in London (I may be able to help with that).
As for subjects: if she wants to combine Chinese with an analytical discipline (ie Economics) then I wouldn’t necessarily overload the languages or else she will have a profile more suited for Modern Languages (a little like Laura had). If she wants to start Spanish then fine although having a little bit of science would also look good if she applies to combine Chinese with Econ. Mandarin is, in many ways, a scientific language so it certainly wouldn’t harm her application at all. I don’t know what AP’s she is doing so she may already be covering some more analytical stuff. “
Question for you and Lisa. As things stand, how we should proceed? Lewis, would you like to meet Anna? We like the idea of the Chinese prof!
Isaac and I are obviously ready to support Anna with whatever professional help from your side she will need for her applications.
Thank you so much Lewis and Lisa.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
All the best
Antonella
