IMPORTANT: UNI/COLLEGE DATES & INFO: PLEASE READ

Dear Seniors,

Well,  November 1st and October 15th are in the rearview mirror, and we are
heading towards November 15th, November 30th and January 1st deadlines.
Well done to those of you who had these early deadlines, and let's all keep
encouraging each other to head to the finish lines.

There is a card I keep in my office that I get out every year for seniors
applying to universities at this time.  If you want to borrow it for the
upcoming holidays, let me know.  'Nuff said! ��

*A couple of important dates and deadlines to note:  *

1. *ON TO NOVEMBER 15TH and NOVEMBER 30TH*

*When submitting your Common App, don’t forget to return to the Common App
after you have paid the application fee.*  There is more to do in order to
submit the application.  If there is a separate Writing Supplement, don’t
forget to send that as well. Look for all green checks.
As soon as you have submitted you should receive an email from the
institution asking you to set up an applicant portal. Do this.  It is how
the institution will communicate with you from now on, including any
missing documents and your application decision.


*2. UCAS APPLICATIONS*

*Please plan to submit your UCAS application by November 22nd. *This will
give the college counselors time to add predicted grades and your
reference, check it over, and send on to UCAS before Thanksgiving.


*3. U. CALIFORNIA/CSU APPLICATIONS*

If you haven’t started these it’s time to get going on these - and you will
need to know all your courses and grades. Ask Ms. Conteh for an unofficial
transcript: grace_conteh at asl.org    *Again, plan to submit these before the
Thanksgiving break. *


*ALL REMAINING APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE FINISHED AND SENT/BE READY TO SUBMIT
by the end of the day on December 17th. This means that your list needs to
be locked down by the 17th.*

*For those of you who have applied ED, in the next few weeks, it is
therefore important to finalize your Plan B, just in case, so that all your
materials arrive in the right place by the early January dates. Please see
me to finalize Plan B.  *


   - *The week of December 9th assessments end at 12:45pm every day.*
   - *College Counselors will be available all day on December 16th and
   17th, 9am-3pm, to finish up applications with students.*
   - *All school materials for deadlines from Dec 30-January 7th will be
   sent by counselors by the end of the day on December 17th.  **Please DO
   NOT add any colleges to your list after December 17th - your materials will
   not be sent in time. *
   - *During break: college counselors will be checking emails through
   December 21st and again on December 28th and 29th.  *
   - *No-one should be filling out applications over winter vacation. REST.*

*Remember - keep breathing and keep sending me those essays to proofread;
keep breathing and keep coming to see me; keep breathing and come in for
chocolate and snacks.  Don't leave everything to the last minute ...*
