BACK TO SCHOOL: In line with the latest Government guidance, all pupils are expected to return to school full time when the new term begins in September. As our schools prepare to reopen, parents in Westminster have a message to share about sending their children back to school.
To find out the measures schools are putting in place for September, please visit westminster.gov.uk/back-to-school (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/back-to-school?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=4fffd06e2a-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-4fffd06e2a-40059651) or contact your child's school directly.

#SIGHTSEECROWDFREE: We want to welcome visitors back to safely enjoy the very best that Westminster and the West End has to offer. We’ve launched our new campaign – #SightseeCrowdFree – to encourage people to enjoy the West End in ways they’ve never experienced before.
It's the perfect time to see the West End in a new light, without the crowds that usually flock to the area. Why not take this opportuinty to experience its vibrant streets, great food, and historic attractions and architecture?
The #SightseeCrowdFree initiative runs until the end of September. For more information visit the campaign website at this link (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/sightseecrowdfree?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=4fffd06e2a-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-4fffd06e2a-40059651) .
HOSPITALITY SURVEY: We’d love to hear your feedback on the changes we made to help you safely enjoy cycling, walking, shopping, and alfresco dining in Westminster.
It's not too late to share your opinion in our resident hospitality survey (https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/HospitalitySchemes_ResidentsVisitors_newsletter/?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=4fffd06e2a-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-4fffd06e2a-40059651) . Updates for Westminster Housing residents
UPGRADES TO CONNECTIVITY: You may have noticed internet service providers performing works in and around your estate or building. Westminster aims to be one of the best-connected cities in the nation, with unparalleled internet access and speed for residents. These works are an essential part of this vision, and come at no cost to you. If you'd like to know more about ISP works on your estate or building, please click here. PARKING ENFORCEMENT RESUMES: Parking enforcement throughout the borough has resumed, and this includes on housing estates where it is safe to do so. It is more important than ever that you only park where permitted, and where required have your valid permits on display for our parking marshals to see. We are continuing to offer free parking to key health workers – allowing doctors, nurses and paramedics to continue travelling to work safely. If you want to know more about current parking enforcement regulations, please click this link. STOPPING THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS:The most important thing you can do to protect yourself and others is to:
* wash your hands more often than usual for 20 seconds
* cover your mouth and nose when in places where it’s hard to stay away from other people you do not normally meet
* keep your distance
Stay at home and book a test if you have any of the following:
* a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
* a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
* a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia) – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
TEST AND TRACE HUB: The Council has a dedicated Test and Trace hub (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/test-and-trace?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=4fffd06e2a-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-4fffd06e2a-40059651) with advice on COVID-19 and links to central Government and NHS health advice. This includes information available in Arabic, Bengali, Kurdish Sorani, Portuguese, Somali and Tigrinya.
MOBILE TESTING UNIT: A mobile coronavirus testing unit will be available on North Carriage Drive in Hyde Park on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August 2020, from 10:30AM to 3:30PM. Tests are available for people over 5 years old with symptoms of coronavirus.
