Westminster City Council key updates
Reopening Westminster: Following the gradual easement of lockdown measures announced by the Government, the Council is currently finalising plans and protocols for reopening some of our key services and provisions. Over the coming days we will release further information on how our libraries, registration offices, playgrounds and community halls will reopen safely and the measures we’re taking to provide a COVID-secure environment.

We’re excited to be able to welcome residents and the community back to some of the crucial services that help enrich our city. Our priority is to ensure that we open services safely and so there may be some changes to the provisions that were offered before lockdown.

Please keep an eye on our website, Facebook and Twitter channels for the latest advice and information of reopening of the city.
Please visit our website (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/reopening-westminsters-hospitality-sector?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=454e4cfde8-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-454e4cfde8-40042831&utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=9022224199-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-9022224199-40059651) for further information on how we're supporting the hospitality sector to reopen and if your a business looking to reopen then please visit our resource hub (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/coronavirus-advice-businesses?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=454e4cfde8-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-454e4cfde8-40042831&utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=9022224199-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-9022224199-40059651#reopening-safely) .

Have you had ‘A Taste of Westminster’ yet?

Last week the Council launched a free cookbook titled ‘A Taste of Westminster’.

The free eBook is filled with recipes from residents, volunteers, organisations and businesses across Westminster. The pages reflect the many communities and cuisines throughout the borough, from Jamaican Jerk chicken with rice ‘n’ peas to a local MP’s homage to Italian sausage.

Take a look at the cookbook here (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/a-taste-of-westminster?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=9022224199-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-9022224199-40059651)
https://www.westminster.gov.uk/a-taste-of-westminster?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=9022224199-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-9022224199-40059651
The cookbook serves to capture the strength and community spirit shown by all during coronavirus. The Council is asking Westminster households to be a part of the cookbook by trying some of the recipes, posting them on social media and tagging @CityWestminster.

The cookbook will record a range of stories, experiences and recipes on a quarterly basis. This warm invitation into the kitchens, homes and hearts of your neighbours demonstrates that Westminster is truly a ‘City for All.’

Business survey open until Friday 3 July: The Council is asking businesses to take part in a survey which will help inform our approach to supporting the borough’s recovery. If you haven’t already completed the survey, please click here and share your views (https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/WCC_BusinessSurvey/?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=9022224199-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-9022224199-40059651) .
Be part of Westminster's history: For over 25 years, Westminster Archives has been documenting the life stories and memories of our residents. Now, the team is looking for residents to share their experiences of lockdown and how it has affected you, for future generations to learn from. We want to know how your life has changed, how you are adapting to new daily routines, and how living in Westminster currently feels.

You can contribute your experiences, thoughts and feelings in many ways:
• photos and drawings
• written or video diaries
• poetry and prose

And that's a wrap: The meal service for vulnerable residents provided by Unity Kitchen at City Hall drew to a close last week.

A massive thank you goes to all our Westminster Connects volunteers who played a key role in the service, helping to prepare and deliver over 62,000 meals!
