How Connections in Mind can support those who are preparing for upcoming exams...from a distance.
** It is far better to be prepared.
------------------------------------------------------------
As a nation we are preparing for how the Coronavirus will affect our day to day lives. Whilst everyone is waiting, we at Connections in Mind, have been considering those children who will be faced with studying and revising for their upcoming exams and thinking about how we can best support them...from a distance of course.
We know that nothing is certain, but we feel it's best to use our executive functions and be organised and prepared. Just in case…
** Virtual Executive Function Coaching
------------------------------------------------------------
Our executive function coaching is a collaboration between the student and coach to help the student move forward in their studies and exam revision with a real focus on executive functions and a degree of student accountability.
Under normal circumstances we would recommend some in person sessions, but given the situation and the critical need for additional support in the absence of consistent school support and routine, we can deliver this coaching support using the most up to date video-conferencing software to conduct our sessions and check ins online.
How will it work?
Our executive function coaches work collaboratively with a student to help with organisation, time management, study skills, stress management and effective reading, writing, note taking, and mock test taking. Our coaches are generalists so they don't focus on a specific subject areas, but rather, on helping students learn how to get all of their work done in an effective and efficient way. They develop tools to help them stay motivated, on track and accountable.
Format of coaching
Regular virtual sessions with twice daily check ins. We can assure you that the quality of coaching and support you receive will not diminish because it is carried out online.
** Coaching will benefit everyone
------------------------------------------------------------
A coach will not only help support your child through this turbulent studying and revision time, but a coach will provide you with the breathing space to manage the other unexpected changes to life. It is possible that you might be required to work remotely and simply don't have the time to provide your child with the constant attention or support they need on the run up to thier exams. A coach can take this on for you.
** In need specific subject tutoring?
------------------------------------------------------------
If your child is in need of specific subject tutoring then, through our partner, The Code (https://thecode.education/) , we will can provide a creative approach to learning that makes academic work easier to digest. All virtually, if needed.
