Dear Seniors,
Well, it's here - our last email to you, the amazing Class of 2020. Well
done! You're on the home stretch, and we couldn't be prouder of you. You
are the class that will go down in history as the class that proudly
graduated and started university during a global pandemic. We hope you saw
the final OSA blog of the year
<https://www.asl.org/program/high-school/student-advising/life-beyond-asl>
- which is all about you!
*IMPORTANT: We have to get your final documentation to the RIGHT
college/university in order for you to matriculate there, even if you are
taking a gap year. *
*Therefore, ALL of you must fill out this form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdrT5zzBoEt3iKBaVTf6gFYfj5q7EvxpS81K4hmBrbj4_absg/viewform>
before
graduation.* If you have done so already, thank you. If not, please do so.
This will let us know what you want sent where, which will be done by June
15th. If you don't fill out this form, we will be unable to send your
information, which may hold up your matriculation, your registration for
courses, etc..
*A couple of reminders:*
1. *Non-US universities: if you need documentation of your GPA for
university* *(many UCAS offers do), we will need to send your
transcript. *This
is the only ASL document that provides GPA documentation.
2. *Your university may require a copy of your diploma as well as your
transcript. * As soon as you get your diploma, we recommend that you scan
it. N
3. * Sending test scores:*
- *SAT/ACT/SAT Subject scores: YOU need to send your SAT/ACT/SAT
Subject scores from the College Board/ACT to your university. *Log into
your account and follow the directions for sending scores. If you need
help with this, Luchano can help you.
- *AP scores:*
- *For students going to UK universities or universities which
require your scores as part of a conditional offer,* we will send
your AP scores to the university you designate on the form. This
is why we
need addresses, both physical and email.
- *For students going to non-UK universities, *you should send your
own AP scores as needed by logging into your own AP account.
*Graduation*
Mr. Hauck and Mrs. Richardson are looking forward to seeing you all next
week as you come to school to receive your diploma. Ms. Thompson will not
be able to be there, but she will be present in spirit in every way,
wishing you all well:
*Dear Class of 2020,*
*This greeting is bittersweet because, while I am so excited for the
futures that await you all, I am sad that we've not been able to say
goodbye in person, with hugs and laughter. Still, I couldn't let this
moment pass without sending you a virtual farewell. Certainly, to the 45
seniors with whom I've worked this last year and a half, I send heartfelt
congratulations. I am proud of the work you all did to achieve your goals,
and you should be similarly proud of all you've accomplished. You were a *
*joy** to work with: generous, flexible, empathetic, respectful,
conscientious and always...always...ready with so. much. humor! Thank you
for a terrific journey! And to ALL of the members of the senior class,
many of whom I've been fortunate to get to know even though I was not your
assigned counselor, congratulations. Whether it was *on Alternatives*, or
as members of the Senior Council, or when you stopped by the AACC foraging
for snacks at all hours of the day, or when you were simply looking for
some help and advice, *you've left* a lasting impression on me. You won't
be forgotten, and you **will** be missed. We know you're all bound for
great things in your lives beyond ASL. Follow your joy, do what feels
right, define success for yourselves, on your own terms, and never doubt
your worth! Please don't be strangers once you leave; we'd love to hear
from you! Best of luck to you all! *
*With love, Ms. T.*
*Finally ...*
We know that this year has been filled with uncertainty about post-ASL
plans that may extend beyond graduation.* Know that Ms. Thompson and Mrs.
Richardson will be here and available for you throughout the summer. *We
have committed to checking our email frequently and holding office hours
each week. Do not hesitate to reach out with questions or just to chat.
Congratulations to you all - our very, very best wishes and hearty
congratulations go with you as you fly the nest next week.
Mrs. R., Ms. T. and Mr. H.
