ENJOY HALLOWEEN SAFELY: Halloween might look a bit different this year due to coronavirus but there are plenty of low-risk spooky activities to enjoy with your family.

Activities at home and in Westminster: From scavenger hunts to hair-raising events, baking to bus tours, check out our website: westminster.gov.uk/halloween (http://www.westminster.gov.uk/halloween?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=da1a71ddcf-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-da1a71ddcf-40059651) for a full list of activities you can do, whether you decide to stay at home or get out and about in Westminster.

Fancy dress competition: Feeling creative? Why not enter our fancy dress competition. Simply tag @CityWestminster on Instagram or Twitter with #FangtasticCostumes. Entries will be judged by Fashion Bytes and the winner will be announced next week. The more imaginative the better, so see what items you can find around your home to bring your costume to life!

SUPPORT OVER HALF TERM: We are offering activities and support for young people and their families this half term. Whether you need someone to talk to, or are looking for fun activities for you and your child, visit our website (https://westminster.gov.uk/half-term-support-families?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=da1a71ddcf-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-da1a71ddcf-40059651) .

CHANGES TO LEISURE CENTRES: Due to the unprecedented and unforeseen reduction in centre user numbers, combined with restrictions in place to support social distancing as a result of coronavirus, from Sunday 1 November we are reducing the opening hours of all our leisure centres.

All centres will remain open and to compensate for these changes all memberships will be upgraded to 'multi-site access' so members can access any centre across the city. Any clubs or groups that may be affected will be contacted by Everyone Active to discuss alternative temporary arrangements from today, Monday 26 October.

To see details of the new hours and facilities available, visit our website (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/leisure-centres-westminster?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=da1a71ddcf-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-da1a71ddcf-40059651) .

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. We have been working hard with our provider, Everyone Active, to ensure the changes affect the fewest number of users.

Please contact the team at Everyone Active (http://www.everyoneactive.com/enquiries/?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=da1a71ddcf-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-da1a71ddcf-40059651) to discuss details of changes at your local leisure centre and alternative options during this period. WESTMINSTER CONNECTS: With the help of volunteers, community groups and businesses, Westminster Connects has supported more than 6,000 vulnerable residents since the start of the pandemic, with some 3,000 volunteers carrying out more than 50,000 acts of kindness. One such volunteer is Karen (pictured above) who packaged and delivered meals to people who were homeless and living in temporary accommodation.

With coronavirus cases continuing to rise, we’re now looking for people to become COVID-19 Health Champions. Health Champions empower people to stay safe by sharing accurate and up-to-date advice with their communities, in a way that people can understand and trust. Read more about becoming a Health Champion (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/coronavirus-how-you-can-help?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=da1a71ddcf-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-da1a71ddcf-40059651#covid-19-health-champions) .

The Westminster Connects team continues to contact vulnerable residents who were formerly shielding. If you need help or you know of anyone who needs help as a result of COVID-19 call 020 7641 1222 (9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday) or email westminsterconnects at westminster.gov.uk (mailto:westminsterconnects at westminster.gov.uk) .
