#ASKWESTMINSTER: Our #AskWestminster campaign offers you the chance to ask any questions you may have about coronavirus and have them answered by a member of the Public Health team at Westminster City Council. In our latest video above, Muskaan answers the latest questions to be submitted, including safety at our vaccination centres, private PCR tests and whether you can select which vaccine you receive.
You can send us your own questions about COVID-19 by using the #AskWestminster hashtag on our Twitter (https://twitter.com/CityWestminster?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=c2b08c5d0f-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-c2b08c5d0f-40059651) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CityWestminster/?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=c2b08c5d0f-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-c2b08c5d0f-40059651) pages, emailing us at communications at westminster.gov.uk (mailto:communications at westminster.gov.uk) or sending us a direct message through Nextdoor.

WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE VACCINE? In this short video, Dr. Asfana Saffa from the Marylebone Health Centre, explains how the vaccine works and what the vaccine is made of.
GRITTERS HELPING TO KEEP VACCINATION CENTRES OPEN: Whatever the weather, we are making every effort to ensure NHS vaccination sites are still accessible with regular gritting taking place along the footpaths and highways around our vaccination sites. If you are scheduled to have your vaccine this week, please remember to wrap up warm.

KEEPING WESTMINSTER SAFE: Over 30,000 symptom-free tests have now been completed in Westminster, helping to keep our residents and communities safe. Symptom-free tests are available to anyone in Westminster who still needs to leave their home for work. Tests are free and available seven days a week at one of our three symptom-free test sites. MISSED OUR DISCUSSION ABOUT COVID-19 VACCINATIONS? CATCH UP TODAY: Last week, Lord Simon Woolley CBE, Founder of Operation Black Vote, Professor Kevin Fenton, Regional Director at Public Health England, Eddie Nestor, host of BBC Radio London’s Drivetime show, and a panel of health experts and community representatives had an open and honest conversation about the COVID-19 vaccinations. Thank you to everyone who submitted a question to the panel. We are working through them to respond to all questions that were not answered during the event itself. If you missed the panel, you can catch up here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BG-auqdR8m4&t=300s&utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=c2b08c5d0f-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-c2b08c5d0f-40059651) .

EXTRA SUPPORT FOR ROUGH SLEEPERS THIS WINTER: As the colder weather hits and snow forecasts continue into this week in Westminster, the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) has been activated across London. This means that shelters and additional services will be open to ensure that anyone who is rough sleeping has access to safe and secure accommodation. The council’s outreach teams have been out over the weekend and will continue to operate 24/7 this week to help support and signpost people to suitable accommodation and rough sleeping support services.
If you see anyone who is rough sleeping or who you think might need help, please use the StreetLink London service (https://www.streetlink.london/Streetlink_London_HomePage?utm_source=MyWestminster+Updates&utm_campaign=c2b08c5d0f-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_22_10_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd2a0fcc47-c2b08c5d0f-40059651) to alert local outreach teams. StreetLink exists to help end rough sleeping by enabling members of the public to connect people sleeping rough, with the local services who can support them.
