Join us online for an electrifying evening of storytelling. From love, life and death in the NHS to a thirty year fight for justice, the mystery of Robert Maxwell to home cooking during lockdown, and we’ll also be joined by the winner of this year’s Costa Prize.

Michael Rosen is a beloved author, former Children’s Laureate and national treasure. In Many Different Kinds of Love: Life, Death and The NHS he brings together a collection of the words and poetry he wrote during his battle with and recovery from COVID-19, along with the messages he received from his wife and caregivers.

Monique Roffey is an award-winning Trinidadian-born writer and latest winner of the Costa Book of the Year and Fiction prizes for The Mermaid of Black Conch, a lyrical and vivid story of love, loss, family and friendship, as well as the destructive power of jealousy. Set on an imaginary Caribbean island, it is a novel based on a Neo-Taino legend of a beautiful woman transformed into a mermaid.

Thomasina Miers is a cook, food writer and television presenter, an entrepreneur and the co-founder and Executive Chef of Wahaca Restaurants. Tommi is one of 54 of the UK’s most-loved chefs, who have contributed to a unique collection of home-cooked recipes, Chefs at Home, in aid of the charity Hospitality Action, to mark the one-year anniversary of the first national Covid-19 lockdown.

Lee Lawrence is a social entrepreneur who works to help marginalised people find their voice, manage conflict and achieve justice. The Louder I Will Sing is his acclaimed, powerful, compelling and uplifting memoir about growing up in modern Britain as a young black man, which tells his story from the day his mother Cherry Groce was wrongly shot by police during a raid on her Brixton home in 1985.

John Preston is a former Arts Editor of the Evening Standard and the Sunday Telegraph. A Very English Scandal, was published to great acclaim in 2016 and turned into a BAFTA-winning BBC drama series, while his 2007 historical novel The Dig has been adapted into a new major motion picture starring Ralph Fiennes and Carey Mulligan available on Netflix now. His latest book is Fall: The Mystery of Robert Maxwell, which tells the story of Maxwell’s extraordinary rise and scandalous fall. What went so wrong?

Thank-you for the generous support for 5x15's online series.
