The delight of summer is nearly upon us! Lighter schedules, late nights, time with friends and family! But summer can also be a great time to sneak in some good brain work as well to boost those executive functions!

Over the coming weeks we are going to share some excellent ways to incorporate executive functions into the holidays for our children. Take advantage of our free resources and use the relaxed rhythm of summer to practice using skills necessary for success in school and life.

** Get the children to plan your trips!
------------------------------------------------------------
As anyone who has ever planned a trip knows, it takes A LOT of executive functioning to pull off the logistics. Even a day or weekend trip requires planning, forethought, problem solving, and organisation.

That means that it is a great opportunity to let the children get some real world flexing of their frontal lobe, all packaged within the fun of going to new places!

Our Trip planning printable gives great structure to let them practice these skills and give them some ownership over planning trips over the summer.

** Wet weather activity!
------------------------------------------------------------

Has the great British weather struck again? Or have a long journey planned?

Don’t worry, we have an activity planned for your kids. Our word spotter activity is a great way to get your kids using their organisation skills and metacognition!
Fun for the whole family to do, this could be the activity to keep your family entertained on those long road trips.

Print out our 4 word spotter worksheets and see how many words you can find in each!
