** Flash Flooding Support
------------------------------------------------------------
Although Westminster City Council responded quickly to the recent flooding incidents (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/flash-flooding-westminster) , it’s important to us that we hear from those affected. On Friday 30 July, from midday to 1pm, we are hosting an online public meeting with Thames Water for residents and businesses affected. You will be able to ask questions about what happened and discuss with the relevant authorities how such events can be prevented in the future. Details on how to attend the online meeting, as well as how to submit questions can be found here (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/flood-information-and-help?wdLOR=cA69767D5-4D76-4872-BA28-49E754ADE768&web=1) .

In the meantime, we are continuing to work closely with partners to ensure the safety of all residents. Our contact centre is available on 0207 641 6000 to provide advice and support, and our website contains up to date advice (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/flash-flooding-westminster) .

For the full schedule, head over to our website (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/vaccine-bus) .
https://www.westminster.gov.uk/event/covid-19-vaccine-discussion-young-adults
IS THE VACCINE FOR ME? DISCUSSION FOR YOUNG ADULTS: Still unsure about the COVID-19 vaccine? Many young people are still not quite sure why they need to get jabbed. On Thursday 5 August, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, you’ll be able to ask questions to health professionals including Professor Kevin Fenton, Regional Director of Public Health London, to better understand how the vaccine works. Led by and for young adults, this is your chance to get answers to any questions you may have. Find out how to join here (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/event/covid-19-vaccine-discussion-young-adults) .
SCAM ALERT FOR NHS TEST AND TRACE: The NHS has issued an alert asking those undergoing a quarantine at home period following international travel to be aware of bogus visitors. If you are self-isolating, you may receive a visit from someone working on behalf of NHS Test and Trace to make sure you are complying with your legal duty. However, official NHS staff will NEVER:
* enter your home
* ask you to provide your name. Staff will ask ‘Am I speaking to…?’ for you to confirm this
* ask for your National Insurance number, telephone number or any other identifying information, other than your passport or driver’s licence
* photograph your identification document
* ask for your financial details, such as your bank or credit card information
* ask you for money or issue a fine

If someone visits you claiming to be from NHS Test and Trace and you do not believe they are legitimate, call 999 and ask for the police. Action Fraud’s website has full details (https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/news/watch-out-for-scams-related-to-nhs-test-and-trace) of what and what not to expect from official visits during a quarantine period and it is recommended you keep yourself advised of these actions in order to spot whether a visitor is part of a fraud attempt.

LIFTING OF LOCKDOWN RESTRICTIONS: From Monday 19 July, most legal restrictions to control COVID-19 were lifted. You no longer need to stay two metres apart from people you do not live with and there are no limits on the number of people you can meet. Remember, although the legal requirement to wear face coverings has been lifted, in health settings such as GP practices, hospitals and pharmacies, as well as on public transport, the requirement to wear them remains in place. Please help keep yourself and others safe. Read the full guidance at the government’s website (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-response-summer-2021-roadmap/coronavirus-how-to-stay-safe-and-help-prevent-the-spread) .
