* exercising with or spending time in outdoor public spaces with your household, support bubble or with just one other person

* to seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse)
* to attend education or childcare
* to visit a care home resident if you are their named visitor

WESTMINSTER GOES BACK TO SCHOOL: All of Westminster’s primary and secondary schools welcomed pupils back this week after more than two months of studying at home. We have been working very closely with headteachers during the pandemic to offer support and guidance, including ensuring measures are in place to keep classrooms safe.
Westminster City School Headteacher, Peter Broughton, said: “At Westminster City School, our reopening plans are mindful of the need to keep everyone safe. It has been fantastic to see so many people back in our buildings and having all our young people back at Palace Street.”
Find out about the increased safety measures in place at our schools (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/back-to-school) .
We are proud of the education offer in Westminster. 93% of City of Westminster schools have been judged outstanding or good by Ofsted and these schools are attended by 95% of Westminster’s children.

SYMPTOM FREE TESTING FOR HOUSEHOLDS AND BUBBLES OF PUPILS: Regular, twice weekly symptom-free testing is now available for the school community, including pupils, parents, support bubbles and staff. You can collect free, fast and easy to use tests at the following locations between 1.30pm and 7pm, 7 days a week. You do not need to book in advance:
* Greenside Community Centre, 24 Lilestone Street, Marylebone, NW8 8SR
* Grosvenor Hall, Vincent Street, SW1P 4HB
* Lydford Tenants and Residents Hall, 74 Fernheard Road, W9 3EW
Please do not visit outside these hours, as the sites are used to test people with coronavirus symptoms during these times. The sites are thoroughly deep-cleaned daily and are not open to people with coronavirus symptoms during collection times. You can also order free home test kits via the Government’s website (https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests) .

REINVENTING THE NATION’S HIGH STREET: Work is now underway on measures that will make more space for people, add trees and greenery, introduce seating and cycle parking and create pocket parks throughout the Oxford Street District.
The temporary measures, due to be completed by late spring, will create a welcoming and safe environment for residents, workers and visitors when lockdown restrictions are eased, helping retailers, restaurants, cafes and other businesses in the area to bounce back. They are part of a huge programme of works and activity to reinvent the nation’s high street.
Leader of Westminster City Council, Cllr Rachael Robathan (pictured above), said: “These initial measures will literally pave the way for an economic recovery. They will create a new visitor-friendly environment and reinforce the area as one of the best places in the world to live, work, shop and visit.”

CENSUS 2021 – MAKING IT COUNT: We all care about local services. Which is why it’s important that as many residents as possible complete the census. By doing so, you are making your voice heard and helping us better understand your needs. It also helps us secure the central Government funding needed by our libraries, leisure and sports centres, family hubs and more.
Although Census Day is Sunday 21 March, the online survey can be completed right now. If you’re unable to complete the survey online, you can request a paper version or contact the public help centre to complete it via telephone: 0800 141 2021.

REFLECTIONS ON PUBLIC REALM: Throughout March, the Institute of International Visual Arts (Iniva) has commissioned four artists to share work that engages with questions on public space and collective memory. Through these commissions, Iniva wants to bring the conversations to Londoners, giving them the opportunity to share their views.
Commissions will be shared throughout the month and you can find out more about the project from Iniva’s website (https://iniva.org/programme/projects/reflections-on-public-realm/) .
