ALL ABOARD THE VACCINE BUS: This week, we’re launching a coronavirus vaccine bus to offer walk-in vaccines to anyone who is eligible (https://westminster.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a50c8b0dd980669ef713b4cca&id=4bd10a47c3&e=7e37558eca) . The bus will be in different areas of Westminster over the next few weeks. NHS staff will be on-board to deliver the vaccine and, alongside Council staff and volunteers, answer any of your questions. You can also pick up free COVID-19 home testing kits. The bus will launch tomorrow, Thursday 27 May, in Chinatown. Check the bus schedule here (https://westminster.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a50c8b0dd980669ef713b4cca&id=25134d495f&e=7e37558eca) .
On Monday, the Council and NHS colleagues will be holding a health festival on Church Street. The vaccine bus will be there to offer walk-in vaccines, alongside other health stalls and information. COVID-19 Ambassadors will also be back in the north of Westminster, including Church Street, Harrow Road, Queen’s Park, Praed Street and Edgware Road on Monday 31 May and Tuesday 1 June to talk to residents about the vaccine and testing in multiple languages.
VACCINES NOW AVAILABLE TO 30+: If you’re aged 30 or over, or if you turn 30 before 1 July 2021, you can now book your COVID vaccination. Due to high demand, it’s advisable to book an appointment. Visit the NHS website (https://westminster.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a50c8b0dd980669ef713b4cca&id=b7653fc103&e=7e37558eca) or call NHS 119 free of charge. ENHANCED TESTING IN SCHOOLS: All secondary schools across Westminster are being invited to conduct supervised, symptom-free (lateral flow) testing (https://westminster.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a50c8b0dd980669ef713b4cca&id=01d23b2987&e=7e37558eca) . This is a preventative measure, linked to variants of concern first identified in India and South Africa within North West London. To help stop the spread of COVID-19, everyone should take twice-weekly symptom-free tests. You can collect home testing kits from locations across Westminster (https://westminster.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a50c8b0dd980669ef713b4cca&id=f0f5a8bb71&e=7e37558eca) or order them online. If anyone in your household needs financial support to self-isolate, you may be able to apply for a test and trace support payment (https://westminster.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a50c8b0dd980669ef713b4cca&id=eda0838b7c&e=7e37558eca) .
WESTMINSTER ABBEY VACCINE CENTRE CLOSING: After today, Westminster Abbey will no longer operate as a vaccine centre. If you received your first dose at Westminster Abbey, the NHS will be in touch to book your second vaccination when it’s time.
