His previous novels Witz, Book of Numbers & Moving Kings were named books of the year by NPR, New York Magazine and the Village Voice. Now in his latest book, called a “shrewd, exuberant, exhilarating and merry novel” by Cynthia Ozick, Joshua Cohen gives his fictional account of a visit to not-quite-upstate New York in the late 1950s by Benzion Netanyahu and family. In a rare UK appearance he will be in conversation with Sunday Times special correspondent Josh Glancy.

Film Programme presenter Francine Stock hosts a discussion of the life and career of Double Indemnity & Some Like It Hot writer-director Billy Wilder and two books in which he is featured. Costa-winner Jonathan Coe's latest novel Mr Wilder & Me focuses on a young Greek woman taken on as interpreter and assistant for our of his final movies, Fedora, Cinema historian Noah Isenberg has edited Billy Wilder on Assignment: Dispatches from Weimar Berlin and Interwar Vienna,
a collection of his 1920s articles published in English for the first time.
