WESTMINSTER GETS CREATIVE: We’re excited to announce that Westminster is now a Creative Enterprise Zone. Young people across the city will have more access to job opportunities and training to commence a career within the creative industry. Known as the North Paddington Zone, a celebratory event took place at the Yaa Centre, which saw a fusion of music, cultural performances and speeches.

THE FUTURE OF WESTMINSTER COMMISSION: We have formally adopted more than 100 policy recommendations from a panel of independent industry and local government experts. In July 2022, the Future of Westminster Commission was established to review and make recommendations on the delivery of key services; helping to support a Fairer Westminster. After a year of intense work, the Commission has now delivered its final reports and we are now adopting its recommendations in order to build a Fairer Westminster.

SOCIAL VALUE REPORT LAUNCH: Our Social Value Impact Report brings together contributions made by property developers and our suppliers through programmes that improve local communities directly. This includes employment opportunities, skill development initiatives and environmental improvements. At a time when many are struggling with the cost of living crisis, it is vital that we make a real difference and work in the best interest of the people across Westminster.

The ambitious plans include enhanced facilities, an open plan gym, a refurbished swimming pool, a contemporary library, a café and upgraded climbing wall. Central to the new facilities are accessibility and a reduction in carbon emissions.

The programme takes a radical approach to working with individuals facing multiple disadvantages with specialist teams that identify individuals who have fallen through the gaps of traditional support.
