MORE HELP FOR THOSE MOST IN NEED: We are proposing to invest £650,000 in mental health services (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/news/over-half-million-pounds-assigned-support-mental-health-services-residents) and support for those with learning disabilities. This includes a mental wellness scheme and community centre where residents can learn new skills in a safe and friendly environment, as well as health and wellbeing programmes, and advice on managing the cost of living, staying safe and digital literacy. The investment is part of a wider programme to maintain mental health support in Westminster. In the above video (https://youtu.be/InhxsRwDCxs) , Cllr Nafsika Butler-Thalassis speaks about how this will help people rebuild confidence and connect with others. Meanwhile, if you are looking for advice, there are resources available (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/advice-vulnerable-residents/mental-health-support) to support the most vulnerable residents.

HELPING WITH THE COST OF LIVING: To help with the cost of living crisis, we announced last year an additional £2 million in funding that would be split into two parts. The second of these £1m funding pots is now being put towards support (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/news/additional-ps1million-ease-cost-living-pressures) that includes emergency funding for voluntary and community organisers, discretionary housing payments for low-income renters and summer holiday activities. Find out how we’re providing support and get more help at our support hub (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/cost-of-living-support) .

INVEST IN A GREEN WESTMINSTER: For as little as £5 you can become an agent of change (https://www.abundanceinvestment.com/our-investments/councils/westminster-green-investment-2028) by contributing to our net-zero ambitions. We’ve partnered with Abundance to launch the Westminster Green Investment – the easiest way for you to start your investment journey in an ethical and sustainable way. Capital at risk. Investments are long term and may not be readily realisable. This investment is being arranged by Abundance Investment, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (525432).

CLEANING UP THE TOWN: Our street teams continue to respond to your reports of fly-tipping, broken infrastructure and anti-social behaviour. We deal with hundreds of issues every month, including reinstating road markings near Regent’s Park, and dealing with a graffiti trouble spot in Pimlico (both pictured above). You can flag items to our teams through our Report It web tool (https://www.westminster.gov.uk/report-it) .
CALLING FOR FAIRER FLOODING SUPPORT: Following the flash floods that took place in July 2021, which saw 1,500 properties affected, we are partnering with other London councils – including Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Camden – to call for reforms to the eligibility criteria for the Flood Re scheme to ensure it supports affordable home insurance. It is apparent that affected residents need access to affordable insurance cover and protection from the devastating effects of any future flooding. HELP KEEP KIDS SAFE: Vaccinations are the best way to protect our young people. The 3-in-1 teenage booster (https://westminster.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a50c8b0dd980669ef713b4cca&id=ee86b9df07&e=df04244d0d) is available via your GP, while the MMR vaccine is vital for those aged 1 to 5.
