For National Hate Crime Awareness Week, the Lord Mayor of Westminster hosted an event in the Lord Mayor’s Parlour with #NationalHCAW (https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/nationalhcaw?__eep__=6&__cft__[0]=AZVl242WTU0WKYvHvvdtzgweMRkUUhKCmiGBr7hcd4NxOFOYXhRPNB7eZ0hXP2XhC_Ct4RNnBA3ChYUe6RcwCW_N62jrV-x5gqUdrj-rCpsnsJ_tdfzlFzCMA5TfnE22301vGw-37tUbk4cp0LQje6qLhOwSb2OFQsCACbPP9kBEEWcGjAhrhUyeg30n_RjIGyg&__tn__=*NK-R) (pictured above), saying: “Let us use this week to renew our commitment to being a community that does not tolerate hate and is bound together by values of equity and mutual respect.”
We have a zero-tolerance approach to hate in Westminster, and continue to work closely with the police and all community leaders to ensure residents and visitors feel safe in our city. We all have a right to live without fear, hostility, and intimidation.
There is no place for hate crime in Westminster. If you’ve been the victim of hate crime, if someone is in immediate danger or needs support right away, then dial 999. Hate crime can also be reported online, by 101 phone or at a police station. Learn more about reporting a hate crime here (https://www.met.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/hco/hate-crime/how-to-report-hate-crime/) .

CREATING A FAIRER ENVIRONMENT: With an average score of 62% by Climate Emergency UK, we’re proud to say that we are top of the list of metropolitan councils in tackling the climate emergency. There’s still more to do, but we’re well on the way to reaching our net zero aims by 2040.

MEASLES: Measles can be very dangerous in young children. The best way to protect your child is to make sure they have had two doses of the MMR vaccine. If you’re unsure whether your child is vaccinated, check their red book or ask your GP surgery.
