100 NEW CCTV CAMERAS ACROSS WESTMINSTER: We're rolling out 100 new CCTV cameras this summer to combat anti-social behavior and crime across our city. These are in addition to the police's own cameras, and will help crackdown on anti-social behaviour and capture evidence for prosecution in court. The cameras are also portable which means they can be moved to where they are most needed, to tackle issues from anti-social behaviour to fly tipping. This is just one of the ways we're working for our residents to deliver a Fairer Westminster.
Cllr Adam Hug, Leader of the Council, said: “The safety of our residents is the council’s top priority, and we want to play our part in helping keep our streets safer and to ensure that residents feel more secure in their own homes.”

ON YOUR MARKS, GET STEADY... SERVE! The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Robert Rigby, was on the starting line for the annual Soho waiters’ race. The tradition – which dates back to 1955 – is organised by the Soho Society and involves restaurant waiters racing through the streets of Soho carrying a tray with a half bottle of Prosecco, a glass and a napkin. The Lord Mayor was on hand to congratulate the winning team from Dean Street Town House.
