Happy Easter: Wishing a Happy Easter weekend to all those who observe Lent, Good Friday and Easter in Westminster. We wish everyone a restful Bank Holiday weekend.

During the bank holiday all council offices will be closed on Good Friday 29 March and will re-open on Tuesday 2 April. NEW LEGISLATION FOR PEDICABS: Over £4,000 of costs and fines issued as the new pedicab legislation progresses through parliament. The Bill is expected to become law before the summer, the regulations specify that all pedicabs must be licensed with Transport for London to operate. This should mean a safer experience for visitors on the road as well as making sure the appropriate checks are in place to safeguard against riders with criminal convictions.

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS: As the milestone of the 10-year anniversary of the first same-sex marriages approaches tomorrow, 29 March, we look back proudly that the very first one to take place in the UK, was in Westminster. At the Mayfair Library, John Coffey and Bernardo Marti said 'I do' just 20 seconds after midnight ❤️

REPORT IT ASSISTANT: Our new Report It Assistant makes it quicker and easier to report waste on Westminster’s streets. Simply upload a photo of the problem, confirm the location and then you’re done. The new assistant uses AI technology to get the information we need, without users having to provide lots of detail. You can use it to report dumped rubbish, overflowing bins, graffiti or other street cleaning issues.

ARE YOU READY TO VOTE?: You are legally required to show photo identification (ID) when voting at a polling station at some elections. You will only need to show one form of ID, but it has to be the original version, not a photocopy. The name on your ID must be the same name you used to register to vote.

If you’ve been the victim of hate crime, if someone is in immediate danger or needs support right away, then dial 999. Hate crime can also be reported online, by 101 on the phone or at a police station.

COMPETITION TIME: City Lions are looking for the next must-play game and it’s up to you to create it! Sometimes the best games are the simplest ones, and the challenge is to come up with a new game with a maximum of five rules.
The entries will be judged by a panel of gaming experts from the Now Play This (https://westminster.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a50c8b0dd980669ef713b4cca&id=3dafb4f7d8&e=7e37558eca) Festival, and the winning games will be featured on their website.
