ASL Speakers Series: global election panel discussion

You are cordially invited to join us at ASL for a Speakers Series global election panel discussion on Tuesday, 22 October. This year, we bring a global perspective to the forefront, as a significant number of elections have taken place around the world in 2024.

Our panel will explore how misinformation and disinformation influence election outcomes, erode public trust, and ultimately challenge democratic institutions. We will also examine the crucial role of journalism in safeguarding the integrity of elections on a global scale.

Panelists include Chris Anderson (London School of Economics), Derya Matras (Meta) and David Rhodes (Sky News Group). The panel will be moderated by Terry Gladis (ASL 1998-present) , with questions posed by editors from the high school newspaper, the Standard.

The event takes place at 6 pm in the School Center, followed by a reception for adults around 7:15 pm in the Mellon Library.
