MAKING THE AIR WE BREATHE CLEANER: This week we launched our new Air Quality Action Plan 2025–2030. Air pollution is one of the biggest threats to our health. That’s why we’ve worked closely with communities and stakeholders across Westminster to shape this plan. It outlines practical steps we’ll take to improve air quality so everyone who lives, works, or visits Westminster can breathe cleaner, healthier air.
Read our plan for improving air quality (https://westminster.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a50c8b0dd980669ef713b4cca&id=6feb722c0d&e=7e37558eca)

PROPOSALS TO CRACK DOWN ON ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR: Take part in our public consultation on proposed new Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPO) as part of our ongoing efforts to crack down on antisocial behaviour and create safer, cleaner, and more welcoming communities.

The proposed PSPOs would give the council and police additional powers to tackle persistent issues such as street drinking, public urination, verbal abuse, and other forms of nuisance behaviour that affect residents, businesses, and visitors alike. Breach of a PSPO is a criminal offence subject to a fine on conviction of up to £1,000.

SUMMER STREETS FOR MARTIN’S LANE: A new £300,000 Summer Streets Fund has been announced to help bring back tourists and visitors to iconic centres across London. Backed by the Mayor of London and Westminster Council, the proposals will see the council deliver al fresco dining in St Martin’s Lane, in the heart of the West End. From August to October, during the hours of 11am to 11pm, St Martin's Lane is proposed to be car free and up to 34 pubs, bars and restaurants will be able to apply for outdoor dining licences. This scheme is one many that the council is supporting to make Westminster the best place to live, work and visit.
STAYING WELL IN HOT WEATHER: Temperatures are hotting up this weekend. It's important to take extra care in the heat, especially if you or someone you know is vulnerable.
