KEEPING OUR STREETS SAFE: The big four dockless bike operators came to City Hall this week to discuss issues including badly parked bikes blocking crossings, taxi ranks and disabled bays with Leader Cllr Paul Swaddle and Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Enforcement, Cllr Caroline Sargent. The companies pledged to manage parking more rigorously. We welcome that – but enforcement remains on the table and we will continue to issue fines and seize poorly parked bikes to keep our streets safe.
If you spot it... don’t walk past it – Report it! Whether it’s graffiti, fly-tipping, a dumped dockless bike or another issue in your neighbourhood, your reports help us take action and keep Westminster clean, safe and accessible. Reporting an issue only takes a few minutes, and every report helps our teams respond more quickly.

HOMELESSNESS AND ROUGH SLEEPING: Following the new Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s pledge to end rough sleeping, the Leader of the Council, Councillor Paul Swaddle, has invited him to visit The Passage here in Westminster to see first-hand how we spend £8m a year helping people off our streets. The Prime Minister has been invited to see the services and to work together to tackle this issue.

YOUR BUDGET CHOICES: Over the next four years, Westminster will lose £100m in government funding, almost half of what is usually received to deliver local services. To make up for this shortfall in funding, the government now expects us to increase Council Tax by 75% to 100%. Difficult choices lie ahead but before any decisions are made, we need you to tell us which services matter most to you.
