S/he will want to discuss your progress on your college lists, any end-of-year projects that you may have, your summer plans, and next steps in the college process for June, July and August.</li><li><strong>Interviews (U.S.):</strong> While most U.S. colleges do not require interviews, they are offered at quite a few, either on campus or locally (often conducted by alumni). If you will be visiting college campuses in the U.S. this summer, you may want to look into whether or not campus interviews are available, and schedule those alongside your information session, campus tour, etc. And yes, it is possible at some colleges to interview over the summer, even though you haven’t yet applied. As policies & practices vary from college to college, it’s important that you research each of the schools on your list to see what, if anything, is offered, whether or not interviews are “required” or “recommended,” and how/where interviews may be conducted (on or off campus, via Admission Officer/current students/alumni, available via Skype, etc.). If you have questions about college interviews, please discuss them with your college counselor.</li><li><strong>UK applicants:</strong><ul><li><strong>Open Days: </strong>Are you looking into when Open Days are being held at the UK universities that interest you? There may only be a few offered per year, and they may fill to capacity. Look for a schedule of upcoming Open Days, and register as soon as possible!</li><li><strong>AP Exams:</strong> For those of you sitting for AP exams in May, begin/continue talking to your teachers about the ways in which you should be preparing for your exams between now and May.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Family Meetings: </strong>If you haven’t already had your Family Meeting, please talk to your college counselor about scheduling one.</li><li><strong>Summer Plans:</strong> Still uncertain about what to do during the summer? Stay tuned for further details on Camp College.</li></ul><br><strong>AP TEST TAKERS & CHOCOLATE:</strong> <br>We know that this is a stressful time - lots of chocolate and other snacks are available for you in the AACC office for the next two weeks.<br><br><strong>SUMMER PROGRAMS:</strong> <br>* The <a href="https://www.ncsyes.co.uk/summer">UK National Citizens Service</a> project offers all students aged 15+ the opportunity to take part in a young leaders service project during the summer. The program is three weeks long, and involves a residential adventure experience, a skills building experience, and a service component. It is taking place across the school year. It draws from across the UK, so you are guaranteed to connect with young people from hugely diverse backgrounds, and as it is funded by the UK government, it costs only £50.00 . If you would like to learn more, email Mr. Block to express interest, and he will arrange a meeting of interested parties with representatives from the program.<br><br>* For the fourth year, ASL is running our very popular Habitat for Humanity summer program from June 17-21. Through this service program you will spend a week refurbishing the Charlie Chaplin Playground for severely disabled and autistic children in South London The program is run as an ASL Summer Experience, and charges tuition, as these donations support Habitat's work. It is open to students who will be 16 or older before the end of August.
