Notes:
For the third quarter in Calculus, the first unit covered differential equations, slope fields, Euler’s method, area between curves, volume of cross sections, volumes of rotations and arc length. You scored a 67/100 on the unit assessment and this is the only significant grade we have had so far. Our next unit assessment is on the Friday after February break. This unit mainly covers the calculus of parametric equations, vectors and polar graphs. We will also readdress some of the integration techniques from the skill quiz in which you scored a 15/30. It is really important that you fully prepare for this assessment by being thorough with your homework, checking and reflecting on your solutions, getting help outside of class as needed and keeping an organized list of all key formulas, concepts and skills. In addition to these two major unit assessments, we will have an optional test that will consist of some AP exam questions covering the topics from these two units. This test will not replace one of the test grades, but will count as an additional test if it improves your overall grade. This optional test can be done any time after the second test and before the Alternatives break. However, if you want the grade to be included in the quarter three report card, you will need to take it by March 9th. We will discuss this more in class. Remember I am here for you and want to support your learning. Good luck!
