<strong>REMEMBERING THE FALLEN:</strong> The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Leader of Westminster City Council, Deputy Chief Executive of Westminster City Council, and the council’s Armed Forces Champion today marked Armistice Day at City Hall with a wreath-laying ceremony followed by a two-minute silence at the Great War Memorial. The memorial commemorates the 82 Westminster City Council staff members who lost their lives in the First World War. The Lord Mayor also paid tributes at Westminster Abbey alongside Her Majesty the Queen Consort.

<strong>JOIN US IN PAYING TRIBUTE:</strong> Events are also taking place throughout the city to honour the occasion. At Westminster Abbey, the 94th Field of Remembrance, a field of poppies, remains open to the public until Sunday 20 November. On Sunday 13 November, there’s a service taking place at Lancaster Gate as part of the ‘Poppies to Paddington’ initiative, and an Animals in War service – also on the Sunday – taking place at the Park Lane Central Reservation, remembering the animals that also gave their lives in service.
