** OCTOBER’S BOOK OF THE MONTH:
------------------------------------------------------------

** Venus, Vanishing
------------------------------------------------------------

“A radiant vision of art against evil . . . a bold, moving novel” - Megan Hunter, author of Days of Light

Berlin, 1928. Hannah, a runaway and fledgling artist, has found freedom in the city’s galleries and clubs, and at last, the freedom to love.

Then comes Elke: her patron, the imperious wife of a powerful man. Their affair is reckless and life-changing, and could cost them far more than their reputations. Around them, people are vanishing, and something unspeakable is taking hold. Hannah’s art may be her salvation, or the very thing that stops her from escaping.

Read the prologue and the full dedicated note from Rebeca Birrell:

“ I knew I wanted to write about freedom, resistance and creativity: an artist’s coming-of-age. I hadn’t known this would become a story about desire, deception and shame, and, perhaps most of all, love.”

Under the mentorship of Elizabeth McCracken, Katherine Clements, Louisa Treger, Griselda Pollock, Anna Blasiak, and more, we can't wait to support their writing projects.

See the cohort and the work they’ll be developing with us.
