Our students work hard and play hard. The freshers' fair will be your introduction to the hundreds of societies [https://www.durhamsu.com/groups?parent_link=turquoise-menu-wrapper] we have at Durham. From university and college sport to Argentine Tango [https://www.durhamsu.com/groups/argentine-tango-6a35] and Bubble Tea Societea, [https://www.durhamsu.com/groups/bubble-tea-societea] you can further your passion or find a brand new one.
 
Colleges also host their own Freshers’ Fairs to advertise college-run clubs and societies. You’ll be amazed at how much goes on within your college!
AWARD-WINNING STUDENT MEDIA
Our student radio station Purple Radio [http://www.purpleradio.co.uk/] took home the Best Training Initiative award at the 2018 I Love Student Radio Awards - for their outstanding work in supporting new students to become experienced broadcasters.
 
Our student newspaper Palatinate [https://www.palatinate.org.uk/] has won numerous awards and has had a host of famous faces contribute to its pages since it was first published in 1948. It scooped the Best Publication prize at the 2018 Student Publication Awards.
