KEEPING OUR CITY CLEAN AND OUR STREETS SAFE: Following reports from residents, our City Inspectors have been taking action to remove dockless bikes left in dangerous locations across the city. Inspectors have recently been out in Berkeley Square, Dufour’s Place and on Old Burlington Street removing bikes that were blocking pavements and creating hazards for pedestrians. This follows the introduction of new powers that allow the council to seize dockless bikes posing an immediate danger or significant obstruction on the highway. Bikes can now be removed if they are blocking pavements, dropped kerbs, access ramps, bus stops, cycle lanes, tactile paving or school entrances. If you spot a dockless bike blocking your way or creating a hazard, please report it using the Report It tool so we can continue to keep Westminster’s streets safe and accessible for all.
If you spot it... don’t walk past it. Report it: Whether it’s graffiti, fly-tipping, a dumped dockless bike or another issue in your neighbourhood, your reports help us take action and keep Westminster clean, safe and accessible. Reporting an issue only takes a few minutes, and every report helps our teams respond more quickly.

YOUR BUDGET CHOICES: Over the next four years, Westminster will lose £100m in government funding, almost half of what is usually received to deliver local services. To make up for this shortfall in funding, the government now expects us to increase Council Tax by 75% to 100%. Difficult choices lie ahead but before any decisions are made, we need you to tell us which services matter most to you.

ROYAL OPERA HOUSE OPENS ITS DOORS: Council Leader Paul Swaddle recently got a behind-the-scenes look at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, home of The Royal Ballet and Royal Opera. As one of the UK’s leading arts organisations and a major cultural employer supporting around 3,000 jobs, it plays an important role in Westminster’s creative economy. The Royal Opera House is committed to making world-class ballet and opera accessible to everyone, with around a third of tickets priced under £50 and many productions available to watch live in cinemas across the country. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or considering your first visit, there are plenty of opportunities to experience exceptional performances and discover the magic of the arts.
