Executive functions are a family of top-down mental processes that make possible mentally playing with ideas; approaching unanticipated challenges with flexibility; taking the time to think before acting; resisting temptations, and staying focused.

We are not born with these skills and they develop during childhood, adolescence and early adulthood. We all have strengths and weaknesses with executive function skills and Connections in Mind is a pioneering education start up organisation offering evidence based support to children, parents and schools to ensure all children have the opportunity to flourish. One of our flagship programs is our executive function coaching which is based on the Smart but Scattered model (https://connectionsinmind.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=051e2f4c50f08982c74d45292&id=4116262df2&e=2f6569d631) .

Through our charity we are now going to be offering professionals the chance to train in the basics of how to deliver executive function coaching in their own personal practice. This course is aimed at educators, tutors, educational psychologists and coaches who are looking to add to their skill set

In order to foster a climate of excellence in Executive Function coaching we have developed EF coaching standards - akin to teaching standards and 3 levels of competency. Core, Competent and Advanced.

Successful completion of this course will lead to Level 1: Core Skills accreditation and the opportunity to progress to higher levels of competency with experience and evidence of meeting standards and formal assessment.
